The Annotation Mistake that Kills Training Videos

Don't highlight everything. Seriously.

When you have arrows pointing everywhere or put a big red box around every button, menu, and field in your screen recording, you've highlighted nothing. Your viewers' eyes don't know where to look.

Pick one thing per moment. Highlight the submit button OR the dropdown menu, not both at the same time.

When you treat everything as highly important, the opposite happens and nothing stands out.

Less is more. Guide attention, don't overwhelm it.
